“Freehand Patchwork is an unorthodox technique that is like painting with colorful fabric. The beauty of the original textile designs are fully expressed while freely interpreting the image of the textile art. This is something extraordinary that could not be achieved in painting. Using just rotary cutter and produced layers of overlapping fused fabric and having raw edges are something traditional quilters rarely do. Every piece of artwork is machine sewn with invisible thread with free motion stitches.”
Quilter’s Corner will be holding three 2-day workshops based on Danny’s artwork, “Levitate”. Using his “Freehand Patchwork” technique, Danny employs thousands of fabrics to create movement and depth in his fabric masterpieces. Danny currently has an exhibition at the Texas Quilt Museum in Houston, and will be featured at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky July 12-October 15.
To maximize creative time in the workshop, you will receive prepared class kits in a beautiful Danny Amazonas tote. You will also be given a 14″ x 14″ digital fabric print of Danny’s artwork.
The workshop fee includes 2 days of personalized instruction, class kit, digital artwork and lunch/snacks both days. Class will be held from 9am-4pm each day with 1 hour for lunch.
